OUR CHRISTIAN LOVE AND SYMPATHY TO...
The family and friends of Carl Scheer, grandfather of Professor Jon
Eifert, Director of Choral Music at Concordia University - Texas. Mr.
Scheer's funeral will be held out of state, and the family rejoices in
his long life and the assurance of life eternal to him and all those who
die in the Lord.
The family of Rev. Matt Williams who passed away in his sleep in
Cleveland, OH this week. Pastor Williams will be taken by his family
after the Friday funeral service to be buried in Texas. Pastor Matt's
urban church could not pay him full "scale" and provided only a minimum
amount of burial insurance. With the four children (ages 8 - 2) Stacey
will have more than she can handle alone. Prayers for the entire family
are coveted. If anyone cares to send condolences or financial
assistance: Mrs. Stacey Williams, 17204 Sedalia Avenue, Cleveland OH 44135

Celebrate Concordia!
President Gerald Kieschnick has declared the colleges and universities
of the Concordia University System to be “crown jewels” of The Lutheran
Church—Missouri Synod. “Having personally visited each of their
campuses, I'm happy to report that they are indeed wonderful gifts of
God to The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. The importance of Christian
higher education from a Lutheran perspective cannot be overemphasized.”
Join with other congregations celebrating Concordia Sunday on April 20
(or another Sunday of your choice)! Concordia Sunday provides a special
opportunity to celebrate the gift of colleges and universities that
prepare individuals for service to the Church and world. This
celebration highlights the importance of Christian higher education in a
Lutheran context. It is also an opportunity to encourage both youth and
adults in the congregation to consider serving in positions that benefit
both the LCMS and society through preparation at a Concordia. Make this
a special occasion!
To order materials to help celebration of Concordia Sunday, go to
http://www.lcms.org/universities or call 1.800.248.1930 X 1252.
