JOIN US IN WELCOMING Gwen Hohle to the Texas District Office Staff 
serving as the new Administrative Secretary to the President. Gwen comes 
to us from Concordia, Kirkwood in St. Louis. She has previously served 
in the Texas District as a Parish Worker, Youth Worker and Teacher.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS...

Prayer Retreat -- The 2007 annual prayer retreat at Canyon of the Eagles 
is coming soon (Oct. 1-3).  Registration is available on line through 
the link on the TX Dist home page.  If you plan to attend, register 
soon.  The block of reserved rooms is now turned back into open rooms.  
However, as long as rooms are available, you are still able to register 
at the current rate.  As of last year this event is open to all 
professional church workers and their spouses.  If you have never 
attended, you are encouraged to come and experience the benefits of semi 
structured time for gaining information, prayer, meditation, Bible study 
or just rest.  The retreat is again being led by three LCMS pastors who 
have had great experience in facilitating these retreats.  This will be 
a great time for preparing for the rapidly approaching Lent/Easter 
season.  Dress is casual and the setting is beautiful.  To guarantee
