Fan into Flame
Making a Difference in the Texas District
November, 2007
When the plan for Synod's Fan into Flame mission emphasis was developed,
the leaders wanted to ensure that ministries at every level would
benefit from the generosity of individuals and congregations. Today,
congregations, Districts, North American Missions and Synod's World
Mission are all receiving funds to assist them in furthering the mission
of the church.
The Texas District has been blessed and continues to be blessed from the
gifts associated with the Fan into Flame major gift campaign. Over
$475,000 has been received - all earmarked for new mission work in
Texas. Two ministries that are currently receiving funds are St. Peter
in Roanoke and the Korean Ministry in Houston. Some of these funds
($475,000) will be used for new mission support in 2008. Details will be
shared with you as they develop.
Thank you for your generosity! Short stories about how congregations and
mission ministries are using Fan into Flame monies to share the Gospel
will be printed each month starting in December. We thank God for how He
is blessing our church through this initiative.
