THE FAMILY OF CARL SCHOESSOW (founding principal and music director of
Messiah, Houston, TX) for the loss of his wife, Mary Lillian (Stopple)
Schoessow, age 96. Interment will be led by Pastor Richard Schuller at
10am, Friday, Dec. 1, at the Lutheran Cemetery in Houston. Mary is
survived by her daughter, Joann Schossaw Davis, now residing in
Shreveport. Cards and sympathies may be sent to Joann at 1935 Bayou Dr.,
Shreveport, LA 71105.
THE FAMILY OF SYLVIA SCHMIDT (Member, Board of Mission Administration)
who received word that her husband's mother, Betty Schmidt, was called
home to our Lord earlier this month. Betty was a member of Trinity,
Houston and was a faithful choir servant for over 60 years. Sylvia and
her husband, Nelson, are current members of Trinity. Betty was much
loved by her children, grandchildren and friends. You can communicate

THE FAMILY OF DAN WILLIAMS (Emeritus, San Antonio, TX) as he and his
wife, Aurora, mourn the loss of Pastor Williams' brother, Salvador
Aranda. Salvador died earlier this month, age 73, after struggling for
years with Alzheimer's. He is survived by his brother (Pastor Dan
Williams), two sisters, 7 children, 17 grandchildren and 3 great
grandchildren, all of which he kept in close contact. Pastor Williams
performed two services; one at Salvador's home church, St. Mel's
Catholic Church in Woodland Hills, CA, and the other at Salvador's
sister's home in Hidden Hills, CA. Many friends and family members came
from Central America to pay their respects. Please remember Salvador's
family in your prayers.
THE FAMILY OF CLAYTON CAMPBELL (St. Paul, Magnolia). In our November 17,
2006 edition of Minister-to-Minister Online, we reported the passing of
Jeanette Winslow. Mrs. Winslow is the mother of Pastor Campbell's wife,
Debbie. Our prayers continue for the Campbell family.

diagnosed with terminal liver cancer and it is progressing rapidly.
Pastor Konz recently celebrated 62 years in the ministry, of which 46
were in the Texas District after 16 years in the mission field of
Nigeria. Please remember Pastor Konz, his wife, Helen, and their
families in your prayers.

ZION LUTHERAN, WALBURG, TO CELEBRATE 125 YEARS
Zion Lutheran Church and School of Walburg, TX, will celebrate it's
125th anniversary in 2007. Several events are scheduled throughout the
year, beginning on January 21 when Zion welcomes Pastor John Kieschnick,
who will preach at both the 8:00 am and the 10:45 am services. Pastor
Martin Doering of Trinity, Taylor, will lead the Bible Class. A noon

CONCORDIA ACADEMY AUSTIN PERFORMANCE
Concordia Academy, made up of missionary high school students, will be
performing a new Play in Two Acts, by Lorrisa Julianus called "The
Praetorium". Performances are being held: Thurs. (Nov. 30), Fri. (Dec.
1) & Sat. (Dec. 2) at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee (Dec. 3) at 2 p.m.
This Play will be an uplifting spiritual event for all!
Performances will be held at Austin City Church (a LCMS new church
plant), located at 1700 S. Lamar, Austin, Texas.
All performances are absolutely FREE of charge! Live music by Austin (&
beyond) artists and original art by Ann-Marie Adonyi are part of the
multimedia theatrical experience!

MARCH FOR LIFE OFFERS FREE HOUSING
If you don't live in the Washington, D.C., area but would like to take
part in the 34th national "March for Life" on Monday, Jan. 22, all you
have to do is get there -- members of the Lutherans For Life (LFL)
delegation will arrange up to two nights of free lodging for you and
your travel companions.
Visitors stay in the homes of area Lutherans and march with LFL and tens
of thousands of others to protest the 1973 Supreme Court decision that
legalized abortion.
On the day of the march, the LFL group plans to:
* meet for a 9 a.m. worship service at Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Alexandria, Va.
* take the Metro rail system to downtown Washington for the rally and
noon march from 7th Street, down Constitution Avenue, to the Supreme
Court building.
* return to Immanuel, Alexandria, for a pizza dinner.

Since Aug. 30, 2005, as a result of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita,
disaster response has been at the forefront of the ministry that is
Lutheran Social Services (LSS). LSS has – so far – helped more than:
* 3,900 families rebuild their lives and homes.
* 4,200 individuals through long-term recovery case management.
* 1,400 children, traumatized by disaster, with spiritual and emotional
needs through 34 Camp Noah programs.
LSS
* Cares for 180 children each day and more than 500 every year who have
severe emotional and behavioral problems – a result of past abuse and
neglect.
* Provides emergency shelter and care for children from Central and
South America who have been caught up in the sex and human trafficking
trade.
* Serves more than 1,500 children each day through its award-winning
foster care program.
* Placed more than 6,500 children with loving families through its
adoption program since the 1940s.
* Helps more than 1,300 poor and low-income individuals each month with
basics such as food, clothing and personal hygiene items.
