Jean Born, the wife of Rev. Charles Born, died Monday evening (June 5) in an
Austin-area hospital.  While Pastor Born served as University Lutheran
Church Campus Pastor in Austin for 33 years, Jean served beside him as his
secretary for 27 years.  She was surrogate "Mom" to hundreds of college
students.

She had struggled for several years with the depleting affects of
chemotherapy and respiratory problems.  Her health began to deteriorate
after a recent fall and the development of severe pneumonia. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by their daughter and
son-in-law, Charlean & Greg Gonzalez, and their son, Paul.  She is also
survived by her granddaughter, Emily.

Family visitation will be Thursday (June 8), 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Beck
Funeral Home, 15709 North FM 620, Round Rock,Texas  78717.  (512/244-3772)

The funeral will be Friday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 6414
North Hampton Drive, Austin, Texas  78723.  (512/926-8574)
