HELP STILL NEEDED IN NEW ORLEANS
Our faithful worker in New Orleans, Rev. Victor Frank, who has been
there most of the time since last October, is asking for help, as is the
Southern District. People are still coming from all over the country to
help with cleaning and rebuilding New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf
Coast area, but Texas people are not showing up. A new LCMS "base camp"
has now opened at Prince of Peace in East New Orleans (Camp Restore) and
two others are still operating: Atonement, Metarie, and Good Shepherd,
Biloxi, Mississippi with Lutheran Disaster Response. In addition, Rev.
Jesus Gonzales, at Monte de los Olivos in New Orleans (504-451-9172),
has workers staying at his church. Victor Frank can be reached at Camp
Restore, 888-248-2636, or on the internet, www.camprestore.org.
Bulletin inserts will be available soon from John Ellwanger or the
Southern District Disaster Relief office.
