OUR CHRISTIAN LOVE AND SYMPATHY TO . . .

WILLIAM (BILL) RUTHERFORD (Emeritus, Trinity, Houston) and his family on the
death of his wife, Nancy, earlier today.  Nancy had fought MS for 20 years. 
The funeral will be Monday, August 21, at 1 p.m. at Trinity (800 Houston
Avenue), Houston.

IN OUR PRAYERS . . . 

KATHLEEN SCHWERTLICH, wife of Rev. Bill Schwertlich (Katy) who is  
recovering  from hip replacement surgery she had on August 14 at Memorial
City Hermann Hospital.  As of Thursday, August 17, Kathleen was still in
surgical ICU.  Please keep Kathleen and Bill in your prayers.

JACK AND CAROLYN SCHNEIDER (St. Paul, Plano) - Carolyn's father, Vernon
Schwede of St. Louis,  broke his hip in a fall.  He was taken to the
hospital where he suffered a massive heart attack.  He survived the heart
attack and doctors will attempt to repair the hip on Monday.  Please keep
Mr. Schwede, Carolyn and Jack in your prayers.

TO THE STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF OF CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY AUSTIN as the
University begins its 80th academic year on August 24th with the opening
service beginning at 11 a.m. in the Louise T. Peter Center.  Outgoing TEXAS 
DISTRICT PRESIDENT JIM LINDERMAN  is the guest speaker.
